Understanding the Tender Status column
The Tender Status column on the BOL grid shows whether the tender to the carrier went through, including the two automatic requests the app sends to the carrier: the eBOL and the pickup request.
It’s different from the Status column:
Status: where the shipment is (Booked/Awarded, Picked Up, In Transit, Delivered).
Tender Status: whether the app’s requests to the carrier worked.
How a tender works
When you award a shipment to an API-connected carrier, the app:
1. Awards the rate to the carrier in the app.
2. Sends the eBOL to the carrier. When it works, the carrier returns a PRO number.
3. Sends a pickup request to the carrier. When it works, the carrier returns a pickup confirmation number.
Awarding a shipment doesn’t notify the carrier. The carrier only gets the shipment through the eBOL or the pickup request, or when someone contacts the carrier directly.
Tender Status values
Value Meaning What to do
Pending Waiting on the carrier’s response. Wait.
Accepted The carrier accepted the tender. Nothing.
Rejected The carrier declined the tender. Choose another carrier.
Tender Canceled The tender was canceled. Re-tender if needed.
Tender Expired The carrier didn’t respond in time. Re-tender or choose another carrier.
Booked Awarded Awarded, and no eBOL or pickup step failed. Nothing.
eBOL Failed The eBOL didn’t reach the carrier. Retry the eBOL, or send the BOL directly.
Pickup Failed No pickup is scheduled. Retry the pickup.
eBOL and Pickup Failed Neither request reached the carrier. Retry both, or book it directly with the carrier.
How to retry a failed step
On the awarded rate, a failed step shows a retry button: on Carrier PRO for the eBOL, on Pickup Confirmation for the pickup. Hover over it to see why the step failed, then click it to send the request again. A greyed-out button means that step can’t be retried from the app; contact the carrier directly.
Before retrying, check that nobody has already arranged the pickup. A retry sends a real request to the carrier.
Does Tender Status change when the shipment moves?
No. It records what happened when the app sent the requests, and it never changes after pickup or delivery. So a shipment can show Pickup Failed and Delivered at the same time. That means the pickup was arranged outside the app, and the shipment moved normally.
How do I know the carrier has my shipment?
Look for a pickup confirmation number, a PRO number, or tracking updates in the Status column. If Tender Status shows a “Failed” value and you see none of these, the carrier likely doesn’t have the shipment.
Common questions
Status says Booked/Awarded but Tender Status says Pickup Failed. Which is right?
Both. The shipment is assigned to the carrier in the app, but no pickup request reached the carrier. Retry the pickup, or schedule it with the carrier.
My shipment was delivered but still says Pickup Failed.
Nothing is wrong. The pickup was arranged another way, and Tender Status doesn’t change after the shipment moves.
The carrier has no record of my shipment.
If Tender Status is a “Failed” value with no PRO number or pickup confirmation, the carrier was never sent the shipment. Retry from the rate, or book it directly with the carrier
